Consultation and Patch Test
Prior your treatment, you'll need to visit us for a session where we conduct a patch test using Lynton Laser IPL. This involves a brief application on a small section of your skin to assess its reaction. During this initial consultation, we'll thoroughly explain the treatment process and advise you on how to prepare your skin before and after the procedure. This crucial step confirms that your skin is suitable for thread vein or rosecea removal. By the end of this session, you will be well-informed and ready to achieve the best possible outcomes from your treatment. We don't expect outcome of the patch test.
Preparation
Before your thread vein or rosacea removal session, we start by sterilising your skin and thoroughly cleansing the treatment area. This preparation ensures that no bacteria or impurities affect the effectiveness of the IPL by altering the light's path. We then use a white pen to precisely mark the areas that need treatment, making it clear for both you and the therapist which areas will be addressed. After marking, we apply a numbing cooling gel to the designated area to keep your skin cool and minimise any discomfort during the procedure.
Treatment
We use Lynton Laser device for our IPL treatments, a system recognised for its NHS approval and its extensive use by medical professionals. Known for its precision, it emits controlled pulses of light that specifically target the blood vessels within the facial veins. This targeted approach effectively diminishes the appearance of the thread veins, rosacea by reducing 99% of their visibility.
Aftercare
After your IPL treatment, it's common to experience some temporary redness and swelling in the treated area. These reactions are normal and usually subside quickly. We promptly apply soothing Aloe Vera gel to calm the skin and alleviate any discomfort. Following the aftercare instructions is crucial; these include avoiding direct sunlight and using a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect the treated areas. Additionally, you should avoid hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours to prevent irritation. By following these guidelines, you help ensure optimal results and maintain the health of your skin post-treatment

How many session do I need?
The number of sessions required for Rosacea or thread vein removal can vary depending on several factors, including your hair type, the area being treated, and the density of hair growth. Typically, most people require only 2 or 3 sessions to achieve optimal results. These sessions are usually spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.  During your consultation, we'll provide a more personalised treatment plan based on your specific needs and goals..
Can I have tanned skin or fake tan on?
No you can't. Tanning alters the pigment of your skin, which can affect the effectiveness of the IPL treatment and increase the risk of side effects, such as burns or discolouration. The IPL targets the pigment in the veins, and tanned skin can interfere with this process. Ideally, you should wait until any tan, natural or artificial, has faded before undergoing vein removal. It's best to keep the treatment area out of the sun and avoid using self-tanning products for at least 4 to 6 weeks prior to treatment.
Does it hurt?
Rosacea or Thread Vein removal can involve some discomfort, though most people find it quite bearable. The sensation is often compared to a quick snap of a rubber band against the skin. The level of discomfort can vary depending on the area being treated and your personal pain tolerance. To help minimise any discomfort, we apply a numbing cooling gel before the procedure.
Can I go to the sun/holiday after the treatment?
It's best to avoid direct sun exposure after any IPL treatment . The treated skin can be more sensitive to the sun, increasing the risk of sunburn and pigmentation changes. It's advisable to keep the treated area covered and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or higher for at least a month following the procedure. This helps protect your skin and ensure the best possible results from your laser treatment. If you must be in the sun, wearing protective clothing and applying sunscreen regularly can help minimise risks.
