Skin tags are small, soft, harmless growths of skin that usually appear where skin rubs against skin or clothing. The neck, underarms, eyelid area, groin and under the bust are the most common sites. They are linked to friction, genetics, hormonal changes and weight change, and they tend to become more common with age.
They are not a health risk, but they can catch on jewellery, collars and bra straps, become irritated, or simply be something you would rather not see.
At Skinportant, we remove skin tags using advanced electrolysis. A very fine probe delivers a controlled current to the base of the tag, which heats and seals the tissue. The tag is removed during the appointment, and the sealed base is left to heal. There is no cutting, no stitches and no freezing.
Every skin tag is checked before treatment. If a growth does not look like a typical skin tag, has changed, bleeds or looks irregular, we will not treat it and will refer you to your GP.
